On 30 January, MCG members followed photographer and expert guide Sean Liew to discover how devotees in Malaysia celebrate Thaipusam, one of the most important festivals for the Hindu community here.

 

After witnessing the ablutions at Batu River followed by prayers and preparation of offerings, MCG members accompanied the devotees on their journey up to Batu Caves, where the devotees prayed at the temple celebrating Lord Murugan.

 

Thanks to Sean Liew’s insightful explanations, participants better understood the importance of Thaipusam and were able to fully appreciate this festival.
